The foliage is quite feathery and light and the colors range from deep blue to pale blue, pink, lilac and white. An excellent choice for cut flowers, Larkspur is a native of Greece. Larkspur is a tough, hardy perennial with tall spikes and bunches of colourful flowers growing on them vertically. Larkspur is an annual flower with delicate flowers with shades of pink, violet, white and lavender. With elegant stalks growing up to 4 feet, Larkspur looks great in clusters or mixed with other flowers and is a generally non-fussy plant. For the best blooms, plant Larkspur in full sun. Plant along a wall or other structure to avoid staking. Though a drought-tolerant plant, Larkspur will tend to become week in prolonged dry spells and lack of sunlight. Larkspur is not an edible flower.
